Tip #1: Set a goal / Establece una meta
The first thing you need to do is set a goal. If you are taking the test as a requirement for a job, try to find out what level you need to get in order to be successful. Make sure that the goal is achievable. This means not aiming too high but also not aiming too low. This will ensure that you are not disappointed with the final result.
Tip #2: Understand the test / Entienda el examen
Before you start studying for the test, make sure you understand the format of each section. You will be tested on your listening and reading comprehension skills. By doing practice tests, you will become very familiar with how the test works. It should become “second nature” to you before you attempt the real thing so that there is nothing on the test that will surprise you.
Tip #3: Make a study plan / Haz un plan de estudios
Even though you may have booked your TOEIC test months in advance, the day you decide to take the test should be the day you start to study too. You will have to decide whether or not you are going to teach yourself with resources or take a preparation class. Studying at the same time every day is a great way to improve your score. Write down your study plan and stick to it!
